About The Pipe Lab

The Pipe Lab is where craft meets obsession. Every pipe is made by hand — shaped, drilled, sanded, and finished one at a time in our workshop.

Travis is the pipe maker. He works in briar, turning raw blocks into smoking pipes that are built to last and made to be used. No two pipes are the same.

Hump handles the business side and built this site. Together we run The Pipe Lab under The Pipe Lab, LLC out of Vermont.

The Craft

Pipe making is a process. It starts with selecting the right block of briar — the grain, the size, the feel of it in your hand. From there it's hours of shaping, drilling, and finishing to bring out the character of the wood.

We don't rush it. Every pipe gets the time it needs. When it's done, it goes up on the site and on Instagram. When it sells, it's gone. That's it.
